Mission patches are used by military and space organisations to identify, symbolise and describe a mission’s objectives and its crew. This tradition is also observed in the shady world of PSYOPS where each secret mission of the Pentagon gets its patch. These patches offer a rare glimpse into the Pentagon’s secret operations and the symbolism on them is rather striking: ominous and cryptic phrases, dark occult symbolism, references to secret societies, and sometimes even a rather dark sense of humour.

This patch belongs to the crew of Desert Prowler, which is a UAV (an unmanned aerial vehicle) or drone.

The central white star encircled by five others refers to Area 51, Nevada's infamous testing ground and presumed site for Alien Observations, where the Desert Prowler was likely developed.

Though unsure of what the Omega symbol (Ω) may represent (possibly "the end"), the lightning bolt is a common symbol of electronic warfare. The New York Times, reporting on a secretive CIA drone's crash in Iran in 2011, cited independent experts saying "the drone almost certainly carries communications intercept equipment."
